Rootwork or hoodoo is a practice that combines traditional West African elements with Native American and European elements. Today, it is still commonly practiced in the Southern United States, West Africa, and the Caribbean. Hoodoo may incorporate some religious elements, but it is not a religion in itself. While prayers and religious symbols can be part of Hoodoo rituals, the practice is not tied to any specific faith. Some rootworkers are Protestant Christians, but others range from Catholic to secular.
Rootworkers in hoodoo believe in our own inherent power and in the natural powers of the herbs, roots, and other curios we use. While praying to saints or deities is not necessary in Hoodoo, we may choose to do so to seek their assistance with a spell or ritual. Hoodoo rituals can be performed for a variety of purposes, including bringing financial prosperity, attracting love, finding a new job, achieving success in business, breaking hexes or curses, and even for healing baths, among other things. Rootwork is a deeply spiritual practice that honors the interconnectedness of all things and seeks to bring harmony and balance to the individual’s life.
It’s important to note that all Hoodoo work requires a consultation, as not every job request is accepted. Prices for services will vary based on the nature of the work. If you’re seeking the powerful form of healing that combines herbalism, spirituality, and energy work, consider scheduling a consultation session with our experienced practitioner, Veronica. She is dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals and improve their lives
